What is a sump filter?

A sump filter is a secondary tank that normally sits under your main tank where it is designed to be a filter.

Why should you get a sump?

Well a few reasons are increase system size (water volume) flow is never lost like canister filter as it is controlled by main pump. The amount of media that a sump can hold is normaly far greater that any canister filter some times up to 10 times the amount.

Many of the systems we are doing are living filter where we grow macro algae for saltwater systems or plants for fresh water which feeds on nitrates (less water changes).  Sumps are also easy to clean and because its a glass tank you can see what is going on in your filter at all times.
